Jenna + Tim @ Ponte Winery

I love winery weddings.  Your guests get whisked away to a venue that is just far enough for it to feel like a destination wedding.  The backdrop to your event is acres and acres of gorgeous vineyards.   Your bar consists of a plethora of delicious varietals of wines.  What’s not to love?!

So you can imagine my glee when Jenna booked us for her Ponte Winery wedding last year to her fiance Tim.  Her vision was SO unbelievably girly and pink, it made my heart smile….and I was immediately on board!  Below are some of my favorite shots by her super-duper talented photographer, Eric Cotter from Jim Kennedy Photographers:

Our bride getting beautified by Carina at her amazing team at Flawless Faces:

What is the perfect girly shoe for a perfectly pink wedding?  A hot pink patent leather Valentino heel…topped off with the girliest of bows!

And of course, we needed a fuschia-lined bridal clutch, complete with the bride’s new monogram!

Kate Baker Florals created the sweetest, pale pink and cream bridal bouquet made of hydrangea, stephanotis and lush, open roses.

The bridesmaids looked amazing in their chocolate brown Vera Wang dresses:

After their first look, Jenna and Tim took a few fun shots around the winery….the photog did not run short of beautiful backdrops to play with!

A sweet peek at Jenna’s invitation suite….she had the fabulous girls at Prim and Pixie design all of their gorgeous wedding stationary!

A few fun ceremony details!  Even the simplest thing as a pre-ceremony water station can be made special with the right spiggot jars, wine crates and goblets!

Jenna wanted to make sure that her guests were comfortable in the blistering Temecula sun, so we set up some simple parasols at the entrance of the ceremony area:

Rose petal cones lined the aisle so the bride and groom could be celebrated by their guests during their recessional!

One of my favorite details of the ceremony….the ringbearer’s “pillow” melded Jenna’s love of all things pretty, with Tim’s adoration of baseball.

Our picture-perfect bride walked through the sweetest little gate that Kate Baker Florals had created for her ceremony, on her way to meet her handsome groom!

The lush floral arbor, the sparkly chandelier and the gorgeous backdrop of the vineyard completed the look for the couple’s love-filled wedding ceremony:

The wine ceremony that Jenna and Tim had, as a substitute for the unity candle, was such a wonderful complement to this winery wedding!

Once the ceremony was over, the guests made their way over to the pavillion’s patio for the cocktail hour where we set up the guestbook table. During cocktail hour, guests were treated to pairings of wine and food, to complement the wine tasting aspect of the venue.

The escort card display that greeted guests as they walked into the reception room….cards were laid out on a beautifully lush bed of pink hydrangea.   The entire table was completed by a personalized banner purchased by the bride that displayed their wedding monogram:

A shot of the beatiful tablescapes, a closeup of the bling we added to the centerpieces and of the stunning floral chandelier that Kate Baker created to hang over the dance floor.   The pink lighting in the room, provided by After Dark Entertainment,  just added to the beauty of the room!

Swooning over that cake stand created by Kate Baker Florals

The bride bought a ton of candy and some gorgeous apothecary jars for us to set up her candy station….this was definitely one of the biggest hits of the reception!

I love this shot of Jenna and Tim’s first dance…..it was a sweet moment, followed by a stint of crazy fun open dancing.  They definitely wanted to set the mood of the party and they did just that!

And I’ll end with a shot of Jenna and Tim’s sparkler exit, one that brought back some amazing memories of my own wedding day.   Such an amazing way to end the most amazing day!!

Alex + Jason @ Saddlerock Ranch

This was one of our most detailed and favorite weddings of last year! I met Alex and Jason and it seemed like we were meant to work together the minute we started discussing their wedding details. I had been DYING to work at Saddlerock Ranch for a long long while, and also to have a super detailed shabby chic styled wedding…..this was definitely both! Alex had some amazing ideas put together and the patience and drive to flush out these ideas into reality. Her and her (now) husband Jason worked on tons of DIY projects for their big day, so every inch of space at their wedding was covered with things that screamed “Alex and Jason.” Please enjoy some of my favorite shots of the day, by one of my favorite photographers, Jordana from Hazelnut Photography!

A shot of the bridal shoes…..always one of my favorites to begin with!

The beautiful florals were all done by the Flower Lab…..so organic and free-feeling!

Their wedding ceremony was held at the chapel at Pepperdine University because it held a special place in their heart,  since that is where Jason went to school.    Well, that and the fact that the place was simply stunning with that stained glass window backdrop!

Jordana then took our gorgeous bride and groom all over the property at Saddlerock to get some fun shots.   I couldn’t get enough of Alex’s bold necklace!

We created a relaxing lounge area overlooking the vineyards for guests to ejoy during cocktail hour, as well as a fun refreshment station, drinks provided by Contemporary Catering.

My most favorite part of the whole space…..Alex’s window seating chart!   They found the window and used some crafty skills to add it to the planter, as a base for their mini seating charts.  The small fabric dots at the bottom of each mini sign matched the fabric type that was used on the table menus for that specific table.  We also hung some childhood photos around the display on clothespins, to further personalize the space.

Alex’s DIY fabric menus were tied on to each napkin at each  placesetting.

A traditional guestbook was just not going to do for this couple….the perfect shabby chic wish bowl guestbook was set up!

The centerpieces were an ecletic mix of pieces that Alex and her mom had collected over the year from various flea markets, set on the most delicate lace table runners.  The Floral Lab added to their beauty with some loose florals.

Alex found a beautiful way to display her L.O.V.E mugs that she had found during her decor searches….they were the perfect addition to her sweetheart table!  As well as the fun fabric initials that we hung from each of the bride and groom’s chairs!

And of course, no uber-detailed wedding is complete without a dessert table spread by Sweet and Saucy

I’ll finish off with a picture of the bride and groom, in their moment of bliss during their first dance.  So much love, and so much relishing in the fact that all their hard work had finally paid off as a perfect and beautiful day!

Alex and Jason – It’s been WAY too long but I’m so happy to finally have your incredible wedding up on my blog.   I rarely see couples that work so hard at their wedding projects together….it was such a sweet and touching thing to get to experience.  Alex, we miss you dearly!!

My newest (and best) project so far!!

In addition to all of the stunning weddings that Jessi and I have lined up for the year, I’ve also been working on a little side project of my own!  We are expecting our first baby, due at the end of June and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

As a planner, there was NO way I was going to wait until the birth to find out the gender, so we put together a small party to have the gender revealed to us, while we were surrounded by our loved ones!  It really couldn’t have been more special!  Click on the video to find out what we are having!!

Introducing our (almost) new associate, Jessi Kaufman!!

Meet our (almost) new Just Chic Events associate, Jessi Kaufman (photo taken by the ever-talented Hazelnut Photography):

I say almost because this post is WAY overdue and Jessi has been working in the capacity of an associate for Just Chic Events since last year.  But it’s never too late for a formal introduction, so here we go!!

When I started Just Chic Events in 2007, I never had plans to expand it.   It was going to be a boutique operation and I was going to be the lead on every wedding we took on.  I, of course, would always have assistants and interns…..but the plan was to keep it all very small and minimal to the point where I could “handle it all.”

Then I met Jessi, she was a client of mine whose wedding was featured in Style Me Pretty last year.  She took on to her own wedding planning like a natural…..so organized, so detailed and most importantly, had such a keen eye for all things chic and fabulous!   So right after her wedding, she wanted to sit down with me to pick my brain about the wedding planning business.  I think that was key for me….many people inquire about becoming an intern straight off the bat, but I was intrigued that Jessi wasn’t one to just jump into things, she just wanted to explore some options.

Jessi had been my kindred spirit from the get-go, so our time together had always been a blast during her wedding planning.   That particular meeting ended with me offering her a job as an intern (where she quickly moved up to assistant), which she accepted immediately….and it was the beginning of the amazing double team that Just Chic Events is today!

Jessi is now part of the Just Chic Events team full time…..she is an associate coordinator taking on her own weddings as a lead, and still my right hand woman at most of my own weddings.  I honestly don’t know what I would do without her and I feel so blessed that she was sent over to me when she was.

I asked Jessi to give me three bullet points about herself so everyone could get to know her a bit more, as you will definitely be seeing more and more of her on the blog!  She responded with the following:

- Loves all things yellow, a perfectly salted Margarita, handwritten notecards, a rousing game of Celebrity, taking pictures and traveling the world
- Believes in celebrating the small things, high school sweethearts, living room dance parties, afternoon tea and sending care packages
- Fanatical about the Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers, family traditions and homemade ice cream

Please look forward to seeing Jessi’s full and formal bio on our website in the very near future!!

Amy + Larry @ Rancho Santa Margarita Bell Tower

Taking on out-of-town clients is always a bit more of a challenge than my local brides.   You have to form a trust level with your client, no matter what, but when most of the planning is done from 2700 miles away, it is all taken to a new level.  I felt that bond form immediately with Amy, even before she officially booked us as her wedding planners!  She and her fiance Larry wanted to plan a Southern California wedding from their home in DC and hired us even before they found a venue!

After a long while of searching, we finally hit the jackpot with the Rancho Santa Margarita Bell Tower….it had everything she was looking for to host her modern charcoal, yellow and navy wedding.   Below are some of my favorite shots, taken by my favorite photographer, Jordana from Hazelnut Photography.  Enjoy!

There is nothing better than a happy bride….and this picture just says it all.   Amy was one giddy lady on her wedding day!

A few details from the “getting ready” portion of the day.  My favorite sash of all time….I don’t know what it was about it, but the minute I saw it, I was in love.  And the jewelry?  Not only was it deliciously blingy, but it had alot of sentimental value as well….Amy’s mom made it specifically for Amy for her wedding day!!

I love the “finishing touches” picture….it’s that moment right before most brides are going to either get ready to walk down the aisle, or to see their fiance for the first time at the “first look.”  Either way, it’s hugely intense and serene and the moment when the bride finally looks perfect.

Two flowers that I’m currently obsessed with….white poppies (found in the bridal bouquet) and yellow button mums (found in the flowergirl baskets).  Flower Allie blew our minds with the florals that day!

After Amy and Larry had their “first look” moment…..they launched into some very magazine-worthy poses and of course the requisite Vogue shot with their smartly-clad wedding party.

I love this shot.  It reminds me of the saga that we went through to get that tent at the last minute (because of rain)….on the busiest of all tent rental weekends, Oscar weekend.  But we searched and searched until we found it, there was no way that a regular tent would suffice….not when we had the most beautiful outdoor location for the ceremony.  It had to be clear and it was perfect!!

What’s more picture perfect….the two adorable flowergirls, or the amazing tulip aisle bumper that Flower Allie actually planted into the grass?

And then the gorgeous bride came down to the aisle….at the exact moment that the bells tolled!

Sealed with a kiss!

And my favorite part of any blog entry…..the reception details!

One of my most favorite centerpieces of all time….big, billowly clouds of baby’s breath inside tall silver vases and linked to each other by garlands of orchids.  So modern and ethereal!

The guests were truly wow-ed by the food…..how often do you get served your protein portion of your meal on swords at a wedding?  By Brazil  Catering did an exquisite job with the tasty portion of the evening!

And if that wasn’t enough, Amy surprised her guest with a huge array of sweets and candy at a uber-colorful candy buffet, provided by Custom Candy Buffet Bars.

We set the candy and cake in front of a fun gobo, provided by PropsFX, who also provided the rest of the lighting in the room, as well as DJ’ed an incredible party!

And I’ll end with a picture of Amy and Larry’s first dance……they were so in the moment, it was incredible to watch!
