Dana + Lance @ Calamigos Equestrian

Dana and Lance are the kind of people that you just love to be around.  The kind of clients that you really look forward to meeting with because you know you’ll laugh your face off.  Being a part of their wedding was a special and wonderful experience for me.  The yellow flowers of the day were muted compared to the sunshine beaming from the newlyweds.

A flowergirl and a Bride…such a perfect pair!

This was the most emotional ketubah signing that I’ve ever witnessed.

Love the bridesmaids’ hair flowers!

I’m telling you…BEAMING!

Dana and I worked together to create her Lemonhead escort card display.  So fun!

The Bride and Groom e-mailed me three weeks before their wedding telling me that they were closing on a house!  Such an exciting time, so this card box was literally perfect for them!

Dana and Lance, I hope married life is treating you well!  I’m sure there is no shortage of laughter in your new home.  Don’t be strangers!

Many thanks to the fabulous vendors who made it all possible:

always a planner, never a bridesmaid

…until last weekend!

I got to be on the other end of a wedding last weekend. I took off my coordinator hat and put on my bridesmaid hat. Although it was hard for me not to worry about things like timeline and vendors, I think I did well at just being a good friend. However, I did have a few “coordinator” moments, like when I brought out gray striped straws and made mimosas for everyone. What? I can’t help it sometimes!

Obviously the professional pictures aren’t back yet, but since I had such a great time, I wanted to share with you a sneak peek of me as a bridesmaid!

I was nominated to give a toast before she left for her First Look.  I was clearly not prepared and very tearfully, got my way through it.

I was happy to be paired up with the cutest groomsmen.  Lucky for me, he’s my husband!

Pia + Jeff @ Montage Laguna Beach

You know how sometimes you meet someone and you just feel like, for whatever reason, you want to be their friend?  That’s how I felt with Pia and Jeff.  I loved them from the first moment I met them.

They had an amazingly gorgeous wedding that was a joy to be a part of, complete with a stunning bridal fascinator and a Princess Catherine style balcony kiss!

While I don’t yet have pictures to share, I am giddy to share this highlight video shot by the incredible Loyd Calomay and his team at Red 5.

I have to say, when most couples tell me that a friend or family member is going to sing at their wedding, I get a little nervous.  I always imagine 89 year old Aunt Betty trying to recreate her community theatre days.  So when Pia told me that THE GROOM was going to sing a song, I was curious and excited and very happy that it wasn’t going to be old Aunt Betty.  However, when he started singing to his new wife, I cried.  Check it out for yourself.

A huge thank you to all of the vendors who made this wedding possible:

Big News!

We are sorry for the severe lack of posting and updates on all of our weddings! Wedding season is in full swing now and there are so many things to update you on!

But first, the biggest and best news of all…Just Chic Events has gotten a little bigger. Just a little. Like 7 pounds bigger.

On June 25, our fearless leader, Paola, gave birth to the sweetest little nugget that I’ve ever seen. She has a gorgeous full head of hair and lips that rival Angelina Jolie’s! We are all smitten.

Congratulations to Paola and Eric and their beautiful new family.

I’ll be back to update you on some incredible weddings very soon!  Promise!

So excited!!!!!!  One of our favorite weddings of last year, Alex and Jason, was featured on Style Me Pretty!  Thank you to photographer extraordinaire, Jordana from Hazelnut Photography, for capturing the day so perfectly.

Jenna + Tim @ Ponte Winery

I love winery weddings.  Your guests get whisked away to a venue that is just far enough for it to feel like a destination wedding.  The backdrop to your event is acres and acres of gorgeous vineyards.   Your bar consists of a plethora of delicious varietals of wines.  What’s not to love?!

So you can imagine my glee when Jenna booked us for her Ponte Winery wedding last year to her fiance Tim.  Her vision was SO unbelievably girly and pink, it made my heart smile….and I was immediately on board!  Below are some of my favorite shots by her super-duper talented photographer, Eric Cotter from Jim Kennedy Photographers:

Our bride getting beautified by Carina at her amazing team at Flawless Faces:

What is the perfect girly shoe for a perfectly pink wedding?  A hot pink patent leather Valentino heel…topped off with the girliest of bows!

And of course, we needed a fuschia-lined bridal clutch, complete with the bride’s new monogram!

Kate Baker Florals created the sweetest, pale pink and cream bridal bouquet made of hydrangea, stephanotis and lush, open roses.

The bridesmaids looked amazing in their chocolate brown Vera Wang dresses:

After their first look, Jenna and Tim took a few fun shots around the winery….the photog did not run short of beautiful backdrops to play with!

A sweet peek at Jenna’s invitation suite….she had the fabulous girls at Prim and Pixie design all of their gorgeous wedding stationary!

A few fun ceremony details!  Even the simplest thing as a pre-ceremony water station can be made special with the right spiggot jars, wine crates and goblets!

Jenna wanted to make sure that her guests were comfortable in the blistering Temecula sun, so we set up some simple parasols at the entrance of the ceremony area:

Rose petal cones lined the aisle so the bride and groom could be celebrated by their guests during their recessional!

One of my favorite details of the ceremony….the ringbearer’s “pillow” melded Jenna’s love of all things pretty, with Tim’s adoration of baseball.

Our picture-perfect bride walked through the sweetest little gate that Kate Baker Florals had created for her ceremony, on her way to meet her handsome groom!

The lush floral arbor, the sparkly chandelier and the gorgeous backdrop of the vineyard completed the look for the couple’s love-filled wedding ceremony:

The wine ceremony that Jenna and Tim had, as a substitute for the unity candle, was such a wonderful complement to this winery wedding!

Once the ceremony was over, the guests made their way over to the pavillion’s patio for the cocktail hour where we set up the guestbook table. During cocktail hour, guests were treated to pairings of wine and food, to complement the wine tasting aspect of the venue.

The escort card display that greeted guests as they walked into the reception room….cards were laid out on a beautifully lush bed of pink hydrangea.   The entire table was completed by a personalized banner purchased by the bride that displayed their wedding monogram:

A shot of the beatiful tablescapes, a closeup of the bling we added to the centerpieces and of the stunning floral chandelier that Kate Baker created to hang over the dance floor.   The pink lighting in the room, provided by After Dark Entertainment,  just added to the beauty of the room!

Swooning over that cake stand created by Kate Baker Florals

The bride bought a ton of candy and some gorgeous apothecary jars for us to set up her candy station….this was definitely one of the biggest hits of the reception!

I love this shot of Jenna and Tim’s first dance…..it was a sweet moment, followed by a stint of crazy fun open dancing.  They definitely wanted to set the mood of the party and they did just that!

And I’ll end with a shot of Jenna and Tim’s sparkler exit, one that brought back some amazing memories of my own wedding day.   Such an amazing way to end the most amazing day!!
