design: coral and floral

I’m excited to share a design board with you that I’ve put together for an upcoming event. We’re going with a fun, flirty and floral design scheme. The Bride and her Mom are incredibly crafty and are taking every opportunity to put a personal touch on this wedding with some awesome DIY projects.  The Mother of the Bride has already made 100 napkins from a gorgeous liberty-inspired print that we found downtown.  That’s some sewing-love!

The paper flowers are a special nod to how the Groom popped the question, in a newspaper!  Such a cool idea, right?  I wanted to come up with a way to incorporate newspaper into the design since it has special meaning to them and we decided on these newspaper flowers to adorn the altar with.

The colors are going to feel like a big bowl of yummy sherbet, with a heavy accent on coral.

It’s going to be a rad wedding, and I’m loving planning it!

You can see the gorgeous couple’s engagement pictures and read more about their beautiful story HERE.

Bridesmaids and bouquets;  newspaper flower;  poppy;  white peach sangria;  playful invitation;  saddle rock ceremony site; balloon bouquet;  milk crate.

a tv wedding

I always get very excited when there’s a wedding on a tv show, especially one that I love as much as I love Parenthood.  Do you watch Parenthood?  Are you like me and think that it’s possibly one of the best shows EVER?!  I am terribly sad that tonight’s episode is the season finale, but giddy that there is going to be a wedding.

I thought it would be fun to help Jasmine pick her wedding dress.  If you watch the show, you know that she has a bohemian-chic-comfort style.  I had some fun picking out a few dresses that I think she might wear to marry Crosby in the drool-worthy Braverman backyard this evening.

Enjoy the wedding tonight!

XO, Jessi

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We feel honored that we get to celebrate love so many beautiful times throughout the year with our sweet couples. But we love Valentine’s Day because we get to celebrate all kinds of love today. Sisterly love, soulmate love, friendship love, parent love…it’s fun to use today to spread the joy and love that we feel all year.

I made message tea bags this year in hopes that each time a friend makes a cup of tea, she is reminded of how beautiful and lovely she is.

How did you spread the love today?

XOXO,

Jessi

Loving: trace bundy

Have you lovelies heard of Trace Bundy before? I’m probably very late to this party, but I was just introduced to him via Pandora yesterday and I immediately thought of so many of my lovely couples.

First of all he’s incredible. Secondly, his version of “Canon” is something truly special. I think it would be the perfect song for the Bride and Groom who are torn between traditional and contemporary ceremony music. His version could be the perfect marriage of those.  It’s sweet and familiar yet a little unique and funky at the same time.

Enjoy…I know you will!

Also, if you have some time check out him performing with youngster, Sungha Jung. The joy with which they play is inspiring!

Have a beautiful day!

Ivana + Arthur on Style Me Pretty

We are so thrilled that Ivana and Arthur’s gorgeous wedding was just featured on Style Me Pretty!  Here are just a few sneaks at what was a gorgeous affair, and to see even more eye candy check out the full feature HERE.

Many thanks to the fabulous team at JAC Photography for all of the amazing pictures.

One of my favorite things about this wedding was that Ivana embraced her Indonesian heritage and infused elements of it into the details of the wedding.  From the special desserts to the batik chair ties, this created such a personal touch to the wedding.

A Bride in Vera Wang and a Groom in a bow tie…swoon-fest!

Ivana made all of the signs for the wedding, which was a gorgeous labor of love!  And we put them on real easels, which was perfect for the Art Museum venue!

This was one of the neatest things that I’ve seen in a long time!  We hired a live painter to capture the wedding during the reception.  It was incredible!

An outfit change and a sparkler grand exit, made for a fun and festive end to this great evening!

As always, we owe much gratitude and vendor love to those who helped make this wedding a dream come true for the Bride and Groom.

Michelle + Paul @ The Athenaeum

I will always be grateful to Michelle and Paul on a personal level for the amount of trust that they put in me.  This couple is so beautiful and elegant, you feel a little like you are with royalty when you’re around them.  They are incredibly kind, incredibly adorable and they threw one heck of a wedding reception!

I love every little thing about this picture.  It makes me think of young love and giddy girlfriends.  Two of my favorite things.

The gardenias studded throughout the moss escort card set-up made the room smell so delicious!

I’m crazy for the hemstitch overlay that you see peeking through.  It’s so delicate and sweet.
