Geraldine’s Carnival Themed Bridal Shower

My sister-in-law Geraldine loves suprises.  And she loves pink.  And she loves carnivals.  So what did we come up with, when we went to plan her bridal shower?  These beauties below….(all shot by my dear friend Kelly Susco):

What happens to husbands of event planners?  In a pinch, they become concession stand workers (along with the event planner’s father as well as her brother – the groom).   I have to give it to these boys….they didn’t flinch when I threw a white apron and a hat at them and told them to serve up the popcorn, cotton candy and fried empanadas to a gaggle of girls!

When someone offers you cotton candy…..you take it!

And I’ll end with a pic of the happy couple…..blog entry of their wedding pics to follow shortly!!

Shoshana + Gabriel @ Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve

The first time I met Sho and Gabriel, I was instantly reminded of why I love to do weddings.  The love that was so evident between them, that it was almost tangible.  They had met taking tango lessons and had formed the most beautiful of partnerships over the years, on and off the dance floor.  They had selected a stunning outdoor venue (Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve), just steps away from their home in Calabasas, to host an intimate guest list comprised of only their closest friends and family members.  Their vendor list was chock full of family members wanting to pitch in….a family friend had signed on to cater the event and Sho’s dad’s band signed on to be the entertainment for the evening.  The plan was set to have the most unforgettable night!

Below are a few pictures of the day, taken by my dear friend and photographer extraordinairre, Jordana from Hazelnut Photography.  It just doesn’t get better than this!!

I will admit, I just simply love dress shots.  But a dress shot, set in front of french doors, with the most perfect lighting??  AH-mazing.

I adore this photo because I remember when Sho sent me a picture of the shoes she was so excited to have found!  There is just no getting in between a girl and her shoes.

Sho and Gabriel opted for a first look (always a great idea!!) and then Jordana was able to take some fun pics with them around the lush venue.

The bridal party was a perfect mix of the colors of the day…..lavendar, shades of pink and taupe!

Their ceremony looked out into the mountains in Calabasas.  So beautiful!!

Gabriel is so handy that he built the arbor for their wedding ceremony!  Kate Baker did her magic as usual and added the gorgeous florals to the piece.

Their details were perfect for the setting!

Sho’s dad was SO happy to be able to contribute to his daughter’s wedding day in such a personal manner.  Their band had the whole crowd dancing!!

And I’ll end with a picture of why I love Sho and Gabriel.  So incredibly happy.  So incredibly in love.

Please visit Jordana’s blog for more pictures of this spectacular day!

Sho and Gabriel -  You two are a set of beatiful souls.   Seeing you two, the yin and yang of each other just warmed my heart during every meeting we had together!  Your wedding day was a day full of happiness and love and I wish you all the very best in the rest of your lives together!

3 years ago today….

I married my best friend.

It was the most perfect day, a whirlwind, a blur.   And every day after that I have felt like I’m some crazy winner of a game show that snagged the grand prize of the most charmed life.   Thank you, Bluey, for being my prize.

Letterpress, oh how I love thee…

This post is long overdue, but I just have to gush!  When I relaunched my website earlier this year, I quickly decided I needed new business cards to reflect the look of feel of the new branding!  And there was no question that what I needed was letterpress!!  I am in puffy heart love with letterpress…..there is just nothing more luxurious than feeling the indentation of  your graphics amongst the thickness of the cardstock.    Of course, I wasn’t content with just letterpress (that would have been way too easy!), I had to take it one step further and get it custom die-cut as well.   Luckily, I knew I had a recent client who had a budding letterpress design studio, so I immediately turned to her to design and deliver the goods!

Design and letterpress by Katie at Poppyflower Press, sooooo beautifully done!!

Eul + Mendel @ Casa Del Mar

The bad news is, I’m SO  behind on the blogging.   The good news is, I have a backlog of pictures to share with you all!!

Eul was one of my out-of-town brides who was planning her wedding from New York at one of my favorite hotels in Santa Monica….Casa Del Mar.  Planning a wedding from another state is never an easy feat, but I knew that with her easy-going personality, I could be her eyes and ears here in California and get the job done!   She chose a vibrant raspberry and tangerine color palette, with accents of teal, to offset the rich brown of her bridesmaids’ dresses.  Below are a few of my favorite photos from the day, shot by their photographer, Sam Lim:

I adored the romantic lace dress that Eul chose for her big day…..so flowy and non-fussy and just perfect!!

Leave it to Kate Baker to deliver gorgeous florals once again!

And on the other side of the hotel, our groom Mendel got ready with his guys…..he was just as calm and zen as his happy bride!

Sam captured a sweet moment after their first look and then had some fun with the bridal party on the sand!

A beautiful escort card display greeted guests as they walked through the doors into the ceremony space.

And after the ceremony, the vendors hustled to turn the space over into a vibrant, fun reception space, while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside in the gorgeous sun!  Below are a few of the reception details:

And I’ll leave you with a moment from their first dance!

Eul and Mendel:  It was such a true pleasure taking part in your day…..your calm and kind energy really filled the day with joy!!  I wish you two the very best in NYC!!
